‘Twas the Knight Before Christmas
He was all through the town
But the clubs were all silent
The scene was shut down. The fire was cracklin’
The eggnog on tap
So just sit back and dib
My new Christmas rapNow is the right time
To share the good cheer
And give thanks to the people
Who survived this year.First on my list
The artists naturally
May they all find
New contracts under the treeDesigner suits hung
By the fireplace with care
In hopes Whitney or Ne-Yo
Might show up there. When out on the roof
There arose such a clatter
I sprang from my waterbed
To see what was the matterI spied a little old driver
In a slick purple sleigh
Too big to be Prince
But he was jammin’ awayProgrammers were nestled
All snug in their beds
While visions of PPMs
Danced in their hearsThe jolly old dude
With the smile on his face
Found notes from adults
All over the placeThe sprinkler went off
The clock started to strike
Like Jay-Z or Snoop
Rockin’ the mikeAl Payne’s psychic
Sees changes for the best
Skip Cheatham just wants to
Put time to the testKJ Holiday just wants
Some fresh hit jams to play
Terri Avery just wants
The 9th callers to all go awayMike Horton will continue
Counting his blessings
Brad Davidson sez PDs
Should stop second guessingGeo Bivins just wants
A huge hit for Hurricane Chris
Derrick Brown an answer
For what kind of year is this?Larry Khan claims he’s got
Some surprises in store
Doug Daniel says
Less is still moreHere’s to high cumes for Devin
K2, Jeff and Aundrae
And here’s to solid dreams
That won’t soon fade awaySome PDs without stations
Are considering a move
Neke Howse wants KYS
To stay in the grooveSteve Crumbley says Christmas
Can’t come too soon
All my records are hits
Claims Rick NuhnUrban radio wants songs with
Minimum spins to callout
Bennie Pough still says rotations are
What it’s really all aboutFor Derrick Baker, Andre Carson
And all of the wives
Thanks for the support
That has strengthened our livesTo Skip, Deon, Aaron, Doc and Mary K
To Terry and Tony Gray
To Ken, D.C. and that other Jerry
To Brad, Azim, Jay and LarryMay the new year bring records
That zoom up the charts
The music you bright us
Is close to our heartsAnd to all of you
Whose names I didn’t say
Thanks for the good times
They won’t soon fade awaySo enjoy all your presents
And have lots of fun
But remember the children
Who have little or none.Sharing this past year with you
As it was unfolding
Has meant so much to me
