COVID has even affected Westminster, the hugely prestigious national dog show usually held in New York every February.
Anyone who knows me knows I love dogs so I will concede I may be biased to the point of blindness — but I don’t think I’m alone. I think most Americans love dogs.
And I think there’s a lot of money to be made, and a lot of bonding to be forged by smart stations holding an annual competition to find your market’s cutest office dog.
More and more offices allow dogs, if not every day, at least once a week (like casual Fridays), so I bet this would have wide appeal.
You can post pictures and videos on your web site, let your listeners vote over a series of weeks, and turn the finals into a local event. If you’re smart, you’ll get TV coverage too.
It’s not like you have to blaze a trail for an idea no one’s ever considered before. I saw it years ago in FAST COMPANY, so you can see how they used it to make money HERE.
Most American dog-lovers think of their pets as family members. Shine a spotlight on them and they’ll love you all the more for it.
And your GSM will love you for the extra bucks you help bring in.
