You Gotta Have Faith

"By faith, Abraham ... obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going."

That's the apostle Paul from the Bible, Hebrews 11:8

What does that have to do with us?

This may be one of those times in your life when you can't see around the bend in the road ahead.

Or maybe you've come to an intersection and you don't know which path to take next, the one on the right or the left.

They lead to totally different futures.

These decisions seemed so easy when we were young. Twenty-year-olds don't worry about success or failure, about never working again. At least, this 20-year-old never did.

I am a believer in faith, in trusting that eventually things work out as they should.

That doesn't mean things works out as I think they should.

We all suffer loss.
We all endure pain.
We are all plagued by self-doubts and setbacks.

Life humbles each of us.

To me, faith means persevering, believing with hope and optimism.

It means taking a step, in whatever direction your heart is whispering to you, even though you don't know where it leads.

It's scary, but it's the way forward.
