It was the worst of times...
They say timing is everything.
If you ever chance upon that magic place where you, and all those you love most, have money, health, and time -- when you are in the zone, on top of the whole world -- savor it. Thank God for it.
When you live long enough, and sadly, that's not necessarily marked by years, you learn that time is finite, at least ours is.
You learn that people you love, pets you love -- as much as anyone can love and be loved -- will die ... and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
If God hears, He doesn't intercede.
Not all stories end happily.
I'd like you to watch THIS VIDEO.
Anthony Griffith is a professional comedian. He's paid to make you laugh, and he's very good at his craft or he wouldn't have been invited back to Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. (The bar was set higher then.)
Life isn't always funny.
Your life will certainly intersect -- today, whether you're aware of it or not -- with someone who needs the strength that faith supplies. A faith that says we are not alone, we are not forgotten, we are not unheard.
What you do on the air requires such focus and concentration, and unfolds at such a fast pace, that you don't have time to hear the stories being written, being lived, as you speak.
Your job requires you to reach as many people as you can every day, and so you shape your content for the faceless, anonymous "listeners" - truthfully, for the mass of them.
You're not trying to notice one face.
Here's the thing though...
When you do, not only will you have more faces in your field of focus, you will hold them longer.
And being held is just about the best thing any of us can offer to someone enduring the worst of times.
