I once saw the actor, Omar Sharif, interviewed on The Tonight Show.
He was being teased for his reputation as a womanizer and he had an interesting rejoinder.
Sharif said his father once told him that the mark of a great lover is not bedding thousands of different women, but making one woman feel infinitely desired and loved over a long, shared lifetime.
I've come to see most morning shows as the equivalent of a Lothario: shallow, transitory, and easily forgotten -- a one-night stand.
The shocking is always noticed. There will always be gawkers at accidents.
The tougher challenge is being compelling and relevant, every hour, every day, for years.
Which show is more apt to build real relationships with listeners?
