Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Fall is award season in Nashville ... There the changing of the leaves (they are starting to turn golden and this place gets beautiful) ... Great show this week honoring Loretta Lynn. The Grammy folks honored Loretta's 50-plus years in the business. Garth Brooks was her date. It was a special evening at the Ryman.
Carrie Underwood had a big week. Played Nashville and got rave reviews. "Top of her game"-like reviews from The Tennessean. Carrie honored for her songwriting alongside several other big names ... the picture of the event was fascinating...

I don't always read the comment section, but I did last week. First of all I do respect Taylor Swift. I respect what she has accomplished at 20 years old. She's not my core artist, but millions love her and this coming week you will not be able to escape her!
The TS PR/label gang have her with blanket coverage of all media. Today, Letterman, Regis, Ellen ... everything ... MTV, CMT ... deal with it! She remains the hottest act in this town!
Greatest hits CDs will be falling out of the trees soon...Dixie Chicks, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, many others. New Keith Urban CD weeks away and that push for awareness is growing.
Hollywood and Nashville merge again for always mixed results. The Pure Country 2 movie is out and probably off the radar screen from a national respective.
The Country Strong music video came out this week. You can find it on YouTube and Vevo, among other spots. I'm still cool on that song. Seems contrived. Ms. Paltrow sings it well enough. Excellent actress and you see many scenes in the new music video.
Dierks Bentley headed to NYC in a few days for shows. November 7th on your calendar to look into the Tootsie's salute at the Ryman.
Easton Corbin may have a #1 song this week. This crew is doing great work. Darius should have top Country Album with Lil Wayne top Pop CD.
The American Music Awards are fan-driven and they are off to the races. ABC.com website to vote ... or Google the awards you will find it.
A great voice is a great voice ... Beach music legend General Johnson has died at age 67. He had "Give Me Just a Little More Time," "Everything's Tuesday," "Want Ads" ... a bunch more.
Two members of the up-an-coming Bo Cox Band in Texas were killed in an I-35 wreck. Chase Monks, 26, and Bradley Schroeder, 33, killed when a driver lost control and crossed the center line.
My favorite device, the iPad is still going sales crazy. I love it ... if you get one, be wary of time usage.
