Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Driving along today with dark clouds all around ... lightning started. The voicetracked stations were just rocking along ... one station. a CC AM, was running the EBS interrupt. Jeez ... what is going on when you can NOT depend on radio for weather? Life and death at times. TV whips radio's butt on this MOST of the time ... VERY, VERY sad!
It's been a 112-degree heat index week so bear with me ... It's the top-of-the-August dog days. A few things that came out this week:
That crazy concert in Louisville with like 65 acts at Churchill Downs lost $5 million ... A fool and his money are soon parted. These folks were sold down the road ... crazy people throwing a show with way too many expenses...
Venues in the heat still selling $5-$6 dollar water ... simply WRONGGGGGGG ... does greed have an end point?
If you get a chance, Google Sugarland lawsuit ... PETA going after Kristy Lee Cook ... the new Country awards show ... interesting stories...
The "Idol" show judges story is like watching an 18-wheeler go down the road with its brakes on fire.
Sounds like a year to go on this and out ... They are changing too many things ... babies out with the bath water ... Simon was the star and he became a bore and knew he was a bore ... he was rich and bored. The show is bad karaoke and I will still watch ... It's had its run ...GREED will fly this plane into the ground ... no leaving on a high note for these folks...
On a good note, I found TCN ... The Country Network and watched a few streaming videos .... will keep watching if I can remember...
Backing up ... did buy my airline and hotel for the Country award show from Fox in December. Glad to see Fox jump in. but I hope they don't expect instant rewards ... I don't think the PR machine has any idea how to do this ... It's a made-for-TV show ... no organization, just a TV show ... and narrow in focus ... it may not be a smash ... then again it may do okay ... but it is against Monday Night Football and the CBS sitcoms. Hmmmm....
Stay cool.....
