We are racing toward summer. Economic indicators area little better. That's real good. "American Idol" is awful this year. That's not so good. Sure get a lot of weird stories about the PPM ratings. Roller coaster of LOVE!

The oil disaster in the Gulf will result in what? The story may be too new and who knows what the disaster will exactly be. Makes me sick since I grew up on those sugar-squeaky beaches of NW Florida.

Change. I got into the media business because it seemed so exciting. Well, it hasn't been boring, that is for sure. The uncertainty is the rush and the sinking feeling you get from just dealing with the business.

As we approach graduation, I feel the excitement of the future for them and I feel the sickness they feel about trying to figure out who can hire them. At times it looks like all the rats are jumping off the ship. You hear a lot more about the executions than the births.

Change ... Kid Rock hosting the CMTs ... that's a big jump from Reba and the ACMs, but that is exactly the point. Mike Huckabee working on a project CD in Nashville. Not sure what to think about that. He does play bass and if it is providing employment for some studio musicians ... hoo rahhhh.

Shania looked great on "Idol." Wish we could have heard her sing. She has a Twitter account now. Follow Shania. Hope she returns. It won't be easy, but she never had it easy.

Garth is laying the foundation for a return. Unknown future on that, really. Garth and Shania have a lot of magic in their storage boxes. Wish they would tour together. How cool would that be ... Justin Bieber could open for them...

Sandra Bullock handles her career much better than she does her love life. This multi-million dollar movie property and her staff handled this Jesse James fiasco textbook perfect. If only Tiger had attended the Sandra B school of public relations.

Music Row has a big Grammy block party in a week ... The songwriters are in Key West this weekend ... Someone I hope is trying to figure out how to recharge the Country music sales engine and also clean up the oil in the Gulf ... I'm off to Miami ... .still love it ... or love the memory.
