Jimmy Carter back from Spring Break.
Hard to find a story that disturbed more people this week than the Jesse James/Sandra Bullock train wreck.
It was a huge social media moment as the pictures of Michelle" Bombshell" McGhee were flying all over the Net. The comments that ranged from "EWWWWWW" from the men to "Why in the world would he go with that over Sandra" from the women.
The example here is get involved with the Internet with radio or TV or just dissolve. It is the future. Better get on the 100 mph train or get hit by it.
I jumped on the website ... and all that stuff 10 years ago. Even if you don't know what the goal is, get in the game. It's a blending of the cultures and mediums. Tweens use everything seamlessly and that should be the goal. Give the people some reason to view you. You have to have someone to constantly renew the content. Even TV weather pages now in some cities have interactive sections. Ex:" I just had high winds here that blew over my tree; I'm at ______." You have to give that segment of the audience a way to do it with you. The old "request a song" still applies, but in multiple ways and platforms.
I pray the "radio station in a closet" day will end soon. Maybe there is a place for some, but people want to socialize and can't afford to or don't know how. Radio is around today ONLY because it spends a great deal of time being the listener's companion ... there for you when you were lonely in the car or just couldn't go to sleep. It must find a way back into people's lives. It has, but has much more to do.
That tattooed gal looks like a human doodlepad!
The Spring and the weather. Let's hope this season is kinder than the last. At Spring Break I still heard too much BAD "thump thump" music played by DJs at pools in Panama City and Daytona. I hope this isn't a bad sign of a return to the '90s and that junk.
We need stars, not just singles. We need people who have a story, that sing a story. Lady GaGa is a freak, but her music is pretty good. She may be pushing it though way too far with the tired Madonna act.
Easton Corbin is happening. Lots of new talent. Still need people that single women can get into ... Everyone is married! In whow business the last 100 years, how many married men got single women all stirred up to jump start their career? Pretty much NONE.
Hire some single guys, music people ... make them stay that way for a year or so, then they can do what they want. Old theory still applies
Hooray for Spring ... get me some beach music ... lake music with lyrics and fun ... here we gooooo......
