Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
A big CMA week premiere for "The Blind Side" and the stars are going to be very envious! This is a fantastic film ... If only Toby could find a script this good! This film is better than good. It may even get Sandra Bullock an Oscar nomination ... and it would be deserved.
Like in music, a movie is only as good as the script. This was a fantastic true story and the words followed. Tim has some good scenes and is growing more comfortable in front of the movie camera. Not a natural place to feel comfortable. Big premiere in Nashville on Thursday the 12th at Green Hills. NYC premiere the next week. Movie should play through to the new year. VERY good movie!
The year of the TAYLOR -- SNL and now CMA week. She deserves the big three this year, but will she win anything more than Album? The Album win is a no-brainer. The Entertainer of the Year is the big peach. The votes, if we could see them and we cant, will be spread out somewhat you would think. Five very diverse singers and label diversity to go along with the nominations. Taylor had a year like no one in years and years. From MTV Awards to sales of her "Fearless" CD.
Does the often conservative voting panel of the CMA go away change or status quo or do the votes split and a big surprise wins??
Amazon selling new Tim CD for $5? What's the deal on that?
Crazy week for Country acts on TV... NBC ,CBS and ABC all had major acts. From Urban, Underwood and Paisley on Letterman to Zac Brown on Conan to Underwood on GMAS, the list is long. Country got a huge push.
The CMA show should be good for ratings this year. Kid Rock on the show and getting a star on the Music City Walk is a bit jarring for many. Dave Matthews, Daughtry ... ABC or someone thinks the main Country stars can't make it without their hip rock cousins. Ugh. It's all fun. I actually loved the B52's last year.
CMT coming to the table with sitcoms. Who knows!
Carrie sells 300,000-plus first week? That deserves a wow! Still the machine and wave for Taylor Swift is rolling like tsunami -- 111,000 sales on "Fearless" last week?
See that Oprah is likely to beam up from the local affiliates no later than 2011. She will be on her own network ...OWN. Stern may be doing something similar. Our Country stars are big into private aviation. Everyone is doing their own thing.
