Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Nashville's weather this Fall has been anything but SUNNY and Fall-like. There must be some real downer songs in the pipeline, so look out ... raining again today ... Geez,
watched Tim McGraw on the Today Show ... looked great and his new CD selling around the 100,000 mark first week. He has worked hard promoting it. Tim has to fit in some Phillie time in the next few days. World Series for Halloween. ( Tim's dad Tug pitched the final strike to get a Phillies win in the 1980 series)
George Strait talking in a bit to a national Western magazine ... It's as much the interviewer and the interviewee with George. He does so few that when folks get him, they freak out and ask softball dumb questions ... so the interviews are almost always bland. This interview with an old friend Joe Leydon was good, like talking to George about hunting and fishing. Now that's an area he can talk on! George went on his third safari to Africa in October. Sounds fun ... George gets his outdoor time.
Just thought of this ... see where they want to bring back the TV show "Dallas"? Larry Hagman and a few others talked to ... trial balloon stuff ... story would center around JR's sons Christopher and John Ross. Sounds like it more than a little down the road ...
Garth Brooks Vegas tickets on sale via the Wynn Hotel box office. This should be interesting. Garth and Trisha going to Southeast Asia in November for Habit for Humanity.
Alan Jackson stuff ... 40 items in time for Christmas at the Cracker Barrel ...even a rocking chair!
Big news of the week was the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge next May ... Kenny, Taylor, Keith, B&D, among others. Love this idea. Don't really like the cow pasture shows with porta-potties ... real stadium with seats, parking and bathrooms. Amazing! Makes everything so much easier ... security ... Tickets on sale to general public November 5th and now on some of the stars' websites such as Chesney. Great lineup and venue.
Brad Paisley at the Garden in NYC. Full house and excellent reviews. Brad says there are more Country music fans in NYC than you think.
Miranda Lambert has a big week. Carrie Underwood says she's the most underrated singer in Country music, Miranda just got a 1952 Airstream travel trailer.
I think I knew this, but reminder by the ASCAP folks that Kenny Chesney is now the biggest ticket seller this century any genre. That's pretty amazing!
Not sure who Chris Janson is ... but I think we will soon. Galante and company just signed him to BNA. Missouri young man who played for a time at Tootsies.
November 11th is Veteran's Day and CMA day. Spoke to a Veteran's group this week and they want to see some stars in town for CMA come be in the 11a Veteran's Parade in downtown Nashville. Would be a nice gesture to honor the great ones! The true stars. Dale Earnhardt ,Jr. will escort a special member of the U.S. Armed Forces CMA night.
