They are going where few Country stars have gone before. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will play Mr. and Mrs. James Dutton in the prequel series spinoff of “Yellowstone.”
He’s growing a beard and she’s not going to go to 1883 with that beautiful, glamorous head of blonde hair. Both have major movie experience, and the cool factor of this project is off the scale.
Country stars like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Kris Kristofferson and Glen Campbell have been in big, hit movies, but it’s still a pretty short list. Country Music Hall of Famer Elvis Presley had the biggest film career easily, with Dolly and Kris not far behind.
You would think the two would get a song in the credits maybe down the road. Details on how many episodes, air dates and shooting locations are still to come. But how cool is it being Kevin Costner’s grandfather and grandmother? Only in Hollywood and Nashville.
One Missouri lawmaker tried to get this weekend’s Garth Brooks show in Kansas City cancelled due to Covid. He was not successful. The resurgence of the horrible virus continues, greater this week than last. Garth issued a statement that he would do KC this weekend and Lincoln, NE the next, then put out the caution flag for three weeks and see if the stadium shows can continue.
The virus blowups are in unvaccinated stronghold locations. Several radio people have the Delta variant, along with an Alabama sheriff and several politicians.
Maybe Garth in Seattle can happen due to the high vaccination rate there, but so much is expected to change in the next three weeks. Some medical folks say this virus may blow up then crash down. That is one theory. October shows may be OK. It’s fasten your seat belt time.
Not trying to get everyone vaccinated as stated previously may have been an expensive tactical error. Playing it safe on the sidelines was a spineless move. Sad that we are going through all this pain again! So sad!
Some governments are requiring proof of vaccination to attend events like concerts. I’m sure there is a plan for this possibility, but it will likely raise expenses even more and cut attendance.
Brad Paisley is playing the NFL Hall of Fame week in Canton, OH. Pro football starts in the days ahead. Talk about big buck entertainment! Are they worried about the virus? The NFL? Maybe more than anyone in the entertainment business.
Look at the travel schedule for Nashville-based musical acts in the next six weeks. It’s crowded. How is this going to turn out?
Great to hear that a permanent memorial is going up on the site where the Route 91 Harvest Festival was held. The mass shooting was October 1st, 2017 Discussions are underway to get input on exactly what kind of memorial on the two acres of donated land. Fifty-eight Country fans were killed when the gunman opened up while Jason Aldean was playing.
