Carrie Underwood will take the stage at U.K.'s famous Glastonbury Festival Saturday afternoon 6/29 about 1:15p. It is supposed to be near-record heat wave for the festival that holds over 100,000-plus. Janet Jackson plays the same stage at 5:45 when it may be even hotter than 30c or around 86f.
The British seem to melt at about that point. Some of the attendees were taking off their clothes per published pictures.
That might be a first for Carrie's crew.
Summer is here and it's time to get into the great outdoors. Dierks did that this week and broke bones in his left arm. On holiday in Colorado with his family. DB says he drinks with this right arm, so it's okay.
Many if not most Country stars today are very much in shape. Stage temps get high and wind machines are usually keeping the performing areas a little cooler. The heat, bugs, overheated buses ... it can be a challenge. The Wharf at Orange Beach, Alabama can be very humid and hot on those "Air doesn't move" summer nights. I'm sure most artists can pick out the cool versus the hot places to play.
Lee Brice is on the PBS 4th Show this year. Luke Bryan is among the stars on the NBC Macy's 4th fireworks show.
Garth heads to another stadium record-breaker this weekend at The University of Oregon in Eugene. The Garth/Blake song, "Dive Bar," was the highest debut on Mediabase in seven years. Sixty-six degrees was the afternoon high Thursday. I bet those Glastonbury fans would trade.
On these summer nights, The Opry is a cool break, like going into a chilled movie theater. Luke Combs becomes an official member July 16th, a Tuesday night. Carrie is doing two shows July 19th. Those old-fashioned Opry fans are just for looks these days.
Milwaukee is the big destination over the next 10 days. The 2nd Summerfest ... pray for good weather. Temps in 80s as opening day arrived. From Willie to Lionel Richie to Zac Brown and Chicago. Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson and on and on. Country USA in Oshkosh is this weekend. Brad Paisley, the limited left-arm Dierks, and Alabama. Alexa tells me 87/71 with sun and always a chance of thunderstorms.
Don't miss this Alabama tour. Running on all cylinders. Alabama ends their 50th anniversary tour in Nashville Nov 20th.
Kasey Musgraves said to be doing a live album this Summer. The acts, the crews, the drivers and the fans are doing their summer thing. From Stadiums to the amps to the cool of the Opry stage.
The Stones are out there and McCartney, too.
It's the things to do and Music Row's bank accounts need it to be a lucrative Summer. The weatherman is keeping a watchful eye, too. Lessons learned the hard way from past summers.
