Is Their Music Really That Bad?

Just an observation as we grow near the end of 2019's first month ... See any change ahead on this all-male Country music radio format thing? Mediabase top 21 is all male except for Carrie and "Love Wins." What are the ears of the business looking for? More Country kind of sound, more pop sounding ... or what?
Maren Morris's new song seems hot on launch. There were no female names in The Oscar Director nominees. Maybe because their movies weren't as good as the other nominees. Maybe. And maybe that's the case on the Country radio side, but it sure seems odd.
You can't force balance, but is it one day going to just balance out? With "woman power" breaking out everywhere you look, from politics to business, what is the deal here?
That Grammy dress story courtesy of Bebe Rexha was ugly but it sounds like it will end well. If you missed it, she was seeking a designer to make her a Grammy gown ... the big shots refused (though not outed). She vented on social media. Classy not naming names ... several designers reached out once the story went public. Another so-not-a-2019 kind of story.
Lady Gaga played a female Country singer and it worked for her. An Oscar nomination in the Actress and Song category. A Star Is Born has very tough competition. Might win in Song ... or at least Elton John has said so.
Carrie has her baby boy and Pistol Annie Angleena Presley has a girl. All moms and babies are doing great.
As I writ,e Luke Bryan and a bunch of Country stars are in Mexico, crashing their Playa. It always seems to get cold every time that event happens.
If you missed the CBS Sunday Morning story on Marty Stuart's 20,000-piece private memorabilia collection, you need to find it. Should still be at CBSNews.com. It is amazing! A few of his things are at Graceland in their new complex across the street from the mansion. Hope the public gets to see this stuff someday soon!
John Berry is fighting cancer and all reports sound positive ... hope he knows we are all cheering for him. John Berry is a nice guy and he can be reached at JohnBerryMusic413@gmail.com His wife Robin gave out the e-mail address, so drop him a note.
Not sure how Music Row is going to come down on the teams in the nearby (Atlanta) Super Bowl. More than a few Saints fans are not happy. The local team was an early washout. The owners of the Patriots have hosted more than a few big Country stars at their stadium. So, New England it is.
And a shout-out to Kelly Ford going in as morning-drive star at The Big Apple's Cumulus station. Go Kelly!
