He Sure Touched Music City

Long before U2, Garth and The Stones were filling up Nashville stadiums, The Reverend Billy Graham was giving away his stadium events and the one in the 1950s filled up the Vandy Stadium many times over. Some 600,000 plus for that "residency."

From Johnny and June to Ricky Skaggs and Charlie Daniels, dozens of Nashville-based artists were appointed Mr. Graham's opening acts.

His funeral March 2nd will be "Presidential." His body will lie in U.S. Capitol Feb 28th and March 1st, then transferred back to Charlotte for burial.

He was an amazing communicator and when you were around him, he was very charismatic. Ninety-nine years on Earth. What a legacy!

The tabloids have always targeted Music City, trying to stir up sales and now clicks. Country stars from Tammy and George to Garth have been in their sights. Lately, Blake and Gwen, as well as Carrie and her husband Mike have been on their covers and websites.

Blake is a huge star of stage and screen. The concert stages and the TV screen. He's in love with a rock star. They can't get enough of those two. Are they marrying, not marrying, yrying to have a baby, not trying to have a baby? The tabloids just make up a story and write. Is Carrie having marriage problems? No, but the tabloids would like you to think so.

The Voice, Season 14, is back Monday the 26th. If you have not seen Blake and Adam playing Frank and Dean, it's must-see TV. "Fly Me to the Moon" is in great hands! Black-and-white 1960s Vegas. Blake fits in that time like a mink stole. Must find it if you haven't seen it.

More tours and festival bookings came out this week. Watershed at Gorge, WA has Brantley Gilbert, Brad Paisley, Blake and many more for year number seven. That place is in the boondocks, but what a view of that Gorge. Not a place you just drive to for the day. West Coast hearty campers, but it's a wonderful place to see a show.

Toby Keith is out for 20 dates calling his tour, Should've Been a Cowboy XXV. Some of those early Toby songs are as good as it gets!

Lots of sand still flying in the air about male vs. female radio airplay and award nominations.
