Scandal Comes To Music City

Let's just agree that the Internet has changed everything about everything. Things happen in faster-than-a-speeding bullet time.
The scandal involving a Nashville based PR company is best handled by a staff of lawyers. This has been the first Music Row since when? Glen and Tanya? Tammy Wynette's kidnapping? George Jones DUI? But this didn't involve a star, but indirectly it did. Stars, brands and names were put next to the scandal due to association. What did they know and when did THEY know it?
On the eve of the CMA Awards, Music Row faces another difficult situation. Hollywood comes to Nashville. It's a story not at the conclusion. Like they are saying in Hollywood everyday lately, "Who's next?"
Water cooler talk on the red carpet, for sure, but dangerous talk with lawyers ready to protect their clients. O'Reilly sued a NJ politician recently for $5 million claiming slander/libel. Dangerous playing field.
Switch gears ... we have Country's biggest night ... Who makes the headlines from all this? If I had to guess, Miranda may win big ... and many are saying Keith Urban may win big. There does not seem to be an obvious King of the CMAs this year. But this show can be a King maker!
The Astros beating the Dodgers ... At least Houston got to have something positive happen after that horrible Harvey.
Garth Brooks and his army will be marching toward Nashville in December to put what he called," The Exclamation Point" on this three-year tour. December 16th is the central concert with certainly others to be added.
Tickets via Ticketmaster go on sale November 10th at 10a Central Time ... limit eight and all seats best available and $74.98.
Garth of all the stars of Country is the best PR guy. He handles the media so well and effortlessly. He seems to enjoy playing the media like a concert master. And he is a master of making the press things look easy and fun. Most dread them like the plague.
Garth's people have great reputations with the buildings they play. It's just a first-class operation.
Five-time CMA Entertainer of the Year. And still out there, working it like a rookie. Plays hard and works hard.
Garth continues to have a career like no other.
Can Dierks get an Oscar nomination? How cool would that be? "Hold the Light" from the film "Only The Brave."
Variety did a story about the song and a half-dozen others eligible and maybe nominated in Best Song from a Motion Picture. They made a good case.
Country stars have performed at the Oscars; Faith Hill comes to mind ... Good luck, Dierks!
