Some Things You Can't Un-See!

I think Luke Bryan said that this week when asked about the Las Vegas massacre.
Everything that could be said has been said. It has been off-the-scale sadness along with shock. It was an all-nighter once the phone started ringing around 2a Central Time Monday morning. It was a nightmare that you couldn't wake up from.
Gun control talk again is on the front page. Some trades have already put the spotlight on Country music acts and their stance on the issue. Outdoor festivals, concert security have all been topics discussed. And all the above will be long into the future.
Eric Church poured his emotion out at The Opry Wednesday night and if you can find the video watch it. The song is "Why Not Me." The story behind it and the performance are well worth seeking out.
Tom Petty's death just added to the weeks gloom. Tom's music to me got better with time. Not all music does. He was a very unique rocker and star. His style and intelligence, too. The Traveling Wilburys were amazing.
Sold out Hollywood Bowl one weekend ago and now gone.
If you didn't have a life, check this week; you should have. How fast life can change.
Now a hurricane heading for the Northern Gulf coast. What else?
There were album release stories this week for Tim and Faith and a concert film for Carrie. The new Idol judges went on TV for the first time. But all that just doesn't seem important this week.
For the Country music family...the stars and fans ...it has been a gut check. A heart check. A shock to the system.
Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of Country music. Nothing even close.
The people who were actually there heard that relentless echoing of gunfire. None of us can even imagine. Those 22,000 fans and crew will never be the same; 58 are gone and another 50 in critical condition five days later. Permanent change for them.
For the rest of us? We all want answers. Why did this happen? Was there anything that can be taken from this and make our lives safer in the future? It's too early still for all that, but the time is coming.
Like Luke said, some things you can't un-see. Church attendance should be up this weekend as we look for answers where they may not exist.
How does the CMA Award show address this tragedy? The loss of Troy Gentry and the millions affected by the hurricanes.
Music can heal. I hope music that can comes soon!
