Music Row songwriter graduate Taylor Swift is lighting them up this weekend with her new techno-like pop.
"Look What You Made Me Do!" Telling a story is sure Nashville, but that's about it. She went from on stage awkward with that big box guitar to holding the pop world in her hand, sitting at the top of the musical spear.
She's not Country but she is the most talked-about pop star in the world ... again.
As Hurricane Harvey gets in to Texas, Lady A cancelled their weekend visit ... Its been 142 months since a major hurricane strike in the U.S.
The final goodbyes this week for Glen Campbell. The Country Music Hall of Fame was the place and Glen's family and friends came together to celebrate is life and music.
Preceded by a 30-minute series of TV clips showing Glen with Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash and a beardless Willie Nelson. Glen insisted to his new Hollywood producers that he wanted Country stars along with other greats. Glen was one of the first to get our greatest big national exposure.
The Beach Boys rolled out on stage for their Glen tribute. Campbell was a Beach Boy for six months and played on many of their records as a studio musician.
Mike Love kicked off "I Get Around," a song Glen played lead guitar in the studio.
Steven Curtis Chapman, Carl Jackson, Steve Wariner, Mac McAnally, Brad Paisley and Glen's songman superior, Jimmy Webb. Webb doing a heartfelt stylized version of "Wichita Lineman."
Backstage after the memorial, Jimmy Webb held court ... Legendary producer/songwriter Jerry Fuller telling stories. Glen would have loved to have been there ... In fact I'm sure he was.
The Summer is about to give way to the boys of Fall. Kenny is in Boston this weekend playing two stadium shows. That is a sure sign that the leaves will soon begin to turn and the hummingbirds will point south.
Talked to Chris Janson this week ... What will you remember about the Summer of 2017? The same thing we all will remember -- THE HEAT! Chris said the stages were HOT this Summer. It has been miserable so much of the time ... Ready for cool, NOT cold!"
Plenty of new music in the Fall. The ladies are having trouble breaking through ... just saying. Some reviewer this week wrote, Country music has a dude problem. Too many of them!" Need to think a week on that one.
