The 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death was a 10-day Memphis love festival.
Fifty-five-thousand showed up; it's one of the most profitable years in Graceland history.
When you see artists come and go these days, the Elvis legacy is more and more amazing.
Glen Campbell's music is showing longevity as well. The sales and digital sales of Glen Campbell's music have held up well beyond the initial spike following his death. Campbell cut a lot of amazing songs; only a few made it to the radio. People are now going back and finding them. Seek out "Today is Mine."
Elvis and Glen Campbell ... it seems like they will last forever. You really have to wonder as great as the music of Conway Twitty was, why do we never hear anything about him?
Conway was one of the greatest hitmakers in the history of Country music. Maybe his time is still to come.
We're getting closer to the world's biggest high school election ... The Country Music Association Awards. It is going to be very interesting to see who makes it to the top -- the entertainer of the year, the male vocalist, etc.
Last year it was Chris Stapleton; how will he do this time? Who will make the five entries for Entertainer Of The Year? The Fall begins with those CMA nominations.
As this blazing Summer of 2017 wraps none too soon, Fall always seems to be a fun time in Nashville. Been way too hot to do anything for many ... In Texas right now and every day is 100 ... whew.
And just curious, why all of a sudden two live albums on the way ... Kenny and Blake? Two great live acts. Can't remember the last live album ... can you?
And, and, and ... see where The Eagles are adding more dates? That's a great thing!
