Matching yellow hoodies for Jason Aldean and his expecting wife ... Yellow is the color for Spring in Nashville. The town looks like a giant yellow creature with arms and legs. The town has Hockey Yellow Fever!!
The end is near for the Mighty Ducks and the Nashville Predators. Monday the 22nd, they hit town again for a game 6 of West Conference playoffs. The National Anthems alone were noteworthy ... Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, just for starters. Carrie Underwood is playing team wife duties as well as #1 fan.
The town has really gone yellow. I'm sure this will affect the music in some way to be determined in the years ahead. The stars are out for the games and the team spirit has been good for the whole area. It is the focus.
CMA Music Festival planning in full gear for its plus or minus week of heat and music. It is a huge event, sprawling out all over the downtown from charity events at the top of the week until the last firecracker late Sunday night. June 8th-11th is the main event but the three days leading in have events, too.
While that big ship comes to post the hockey thing creeps into the conversation. If the Preds were to beat the Ducks ... the Stanley Cup comes to Nashville for the finals. The town would freak and the two living side by side would be crazy. More choices for anthem singers though.
The stars don't get paid for the shows they do under the banner of the CMA show. There is now paying gigs available for the Country acts and they are taking them. Myrtle Beach and upstate New York now have festivals ... The CMA isn't the only show in contention.
Paid gigs and the free one is what most do ... Some acts have always been open to working during Fan Fair. The same this year.
The death of Seattle rocker Chris Cornell rocked the Row. The A-list singers tweeted but their love and admiration. Everyone just wanted to know why?
Touring for Summer well underway now. Reba didn't get her TV show. The Idol news has slowed down. The first 90-degree days are here. No shortage of music and clubbing and traffic as the tourists roll into the so called "IT" city.
The politics have driven the easily aroused singers to their Twitters. Still not a good idea to tweet political thoughts. Sure you can, but Natalie was back this week talking smack at Trump ... so was Sheryl Crow.
George Strait turned 65 this week and still is the class act. No politics ... no drama ... smart player and smarter career.
Who will rise from the sweaty stages of Summer a bigger star.? Who will have the big Summer song? Memorial Day Weekend is next ... Get ready, much to see and do. Get out in America and see the place ... I plan to in June ... Crazy California here I come again. In search of Country fans in the North and South ... will advise.
