Country’s U.K. Spring Break

The white, squeaky sands of Panama City, FL are Country music quiet this year now that the locals decided they loved the money, but it wasn’t worth the mess. Spring Break on PCB was historic for acts like Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan and plenty of others.

Alabama beaches didn’t want the drunk college kids either, so they have run out of domestic spots for Spring debauchery. So now what? For the college students, it’s Cabo, Cancun and cruises. Some unorganized careful partying on U.S. beaches but nothing like the past 15 years.
This year, many of Country’s brightest lights are in Europe. The Country 2 Country Festival is back in London, Dublin and Glasgow. The lineup is strong again. Brad Paisley, Reba, Zac Brown, Darius Rucker, Marty Stuart, Chris Young, Hunter Hays and others. Weather has been all right over there … Security very visible and the fans enthusiastic. The RodeoHouston is going on … Chris Stapleton played to a roaring 72,000 Thursday night. His first Houston rodeo and the crowd seemed to be able to sing along to his songs … not hits since it’s the album -- and not any one song -- powering this phenomenon. Huge stadium … huge rodeo going on for two-plus weeks.

Willie Nelson getting great reviews for his show in Florida this week. Willie even pushing his Willie Witty, Still Not Dead!

President Trump coming to Nashville this coming Wednesday. Wonder if he will get any Country music star support?

Nashville, the TV show, doing one cliffhanger after another ... this first year on CMT has been a doozie!

Footnote: I got hit for the second time by NOROVIRUS … Been everywhere around Middle Tennessee ... whole school systems shut down by it ... Winter was easy this time ... the sick part not at ALL!  Beware but there is no way to avoid it … you just get unlucky…
