There was a time when Country music reflecting the times and the country's mood. From "God Bless the USA" to the ancient 60's Nashville-made "Ballad Of the Green Berets." That doesn't seem to happen that much these days. It is one continuous party time. It's the musical equivalent of Pokemon Go. Is that okay? I guess it is. Like the mega-hit TV show Seinfeld. It was called a show about nothing.
Let's see as we go into the end of summer if an artist will do a song like "Courtesy Of The Red, White and Blue" or try the legendary songwriter Steve Goodman's "Election Year Rag." Is Country music really just about beer and hunting and drinking every day? It doesn't feel right.
Remember after the Paris terror acts there was talk of new security measures? Everyone was taking a look at their panic rooms, concert security and the star security. Now add the airport dangers and guys with trucks mowing down a few hundred people. How do you protect your star, your show, your fans?
It is festival time in North America. This weekend Luke Bryan will spend the last hours of his third decade playing at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. Luke is 40 on Sunday and he was be working in Maine. Luke said he had a hard time at 30 and wants to stay 35 forever ... Best idea I've heard this week. Thirty-five was a great age. Happy Birthday, Luke!

Coming up on Brad Paisley's new album in October is a song with Mick Jagger. Jagger's people have confirmed his girlfriend is expecting. with the newest Jagger baby coming in January. Brad's album is in October.
Chris Stapleton opened for Guns n Roses a few days ago and he seemed thrilled to be there. Miranda Lambert puts out her new song "VICE" in the week ahead.
The nation's newest talent show for TV is in town. American Super Group is putting their team and first contestants together now. Going to the rehearsals next week and will let you know.
This is political convention time ... very interested to see what stars show up in Cleveland and Philadelphia. Revealing your political side can be dangerous in Hollywood and Nashville. First up, the Trump coronation. Let's see if anyone from around here goes to bat.
