When will see political yard signs on Music Row this year? The Clinton/Trump race will be a Hatfields vs. McCoys feud. It will be very interesting to see if anyone on The Row gets in the middle of this one. Two candidates with high unfavorables.

Will Nashville pick sides openly, like Hollywood, or will folks keep their politics to themselves? Still early but the invitations to perform in Cleveland and Philadelphia have been going out for some time. Singing the National Anthem ... going on the campaign trail is a big step.

Country music artists have been out front with their choices in the pre-social media days. Tammy, George, Charlie, Willie, The Allman Brothers all were heard with candidates. Hank Jr., John Rich, The Oaks more than a few have sung for the office seekers. Will 2016 be any different? The jury is deliberating.

From politics to Fantasy ... Fantasy that is coming true. Desert Trip ... or Geezer-Palooza tickets are going on sale shortly and we shall see if this $50 million concert dream goes Platinum ... 70,000 music fans in the desert for the third time in 2016.

The most famous rockers in the world for a weekend dream ... Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Roger Waters ... six Hall of Fame acts "concert of the century." Country music could or couldn't do anything like this?

Stagecoach at the same stage just drew big numbers, but this show is more about the fantasy aspect ... instead of flavors of the moment.

Many of our greatest Country artist died too soon ... The Desert Trip show entertainers are all over 70?

The Highwaymen was the closest thing to a mobile Mount Rushmore for Country. Patsy Cline, Tammy, Loretta, Reba, Dolly, Shania and Taylor Swift would have been an amazing show if you are just creating fantasy concerts. Johnny, George, Waylon, Willie, Garth, Glen Campbell and Alabama would have been a heck of a show too ... Buck and Roy to host ... Dreams can be fun ... That desert weekend is going to be amazing ...Hope they do pay per view ... I'm not much on sand...

The Mazda folks are using Patsy Cline's song, "Back in Baby's Arms," in one of their commercials. Two minutes and eight seconds of perfection. Have many modern Country songs even come close to this Music Row-made, timeless, amazing recording.

Break it down ... the song is loaded with people who went on to be in the Country Music Hall of Fame: Producer Owen Bradley, for starters ... Patsy Cline ... the pickers: Grady Martin, Hargus "Pig" Robbins, Harold Bradley, Buddy Harman and The Jordanaires ... people who should be in the Hall of Fame drummer Buddy Harman, bassist Bob Moore and backup singer Millie Kirkum if not the Country Hall of Fame then the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their Elvis work alone.. The Great Bob Montgomery wrote the song. It is a tune with one of the greatest pedigrees ever ... Just go listen to the production! It sounds like a today recording,even though by today's technical standards, primitive. Recorded 9/10/62 on what was become Music Row. 804 16th Ave South. Along with RCA Studio B and A that must have been an amazing place!

I wish artists would just try to assemble the best pickers ... best writers ... best producers ... record a PERFORMANCE and just see what happens ... What they did in the late '50s and all of the '60s on Music Row was MAGIC. Just read the timeless songs that came from that period of rock and country ... from Elvis to Roy Orbison and Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins ... The Nashville Sound that everyone heard but maybe not everyone knew about exactly.

It rocked when it needed to and was as Country as you get. No fads really just great musicianship. The skills of fine surgeons on every instrument. What a great standard that was set.

Gold is old and still the standard for money in this country. Old is not better just in this case much could be learned from how they created the magic. Like winning the Olympics ... Create history ... are we hearing anything in that vein right now? History?
