When the shower-ready photo of Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard popped up on my work computer screen ... I looked! I think the picture has gone viral and getting attention ... so to speak.

Unintended consequences ... but it got people talking! I doubt Mrs Hubbard was trying to shock and awe the fans, but that has taken place ... Out of sight, out of mind ... FGL just made the headlines while on vacation.

The riddle of Chris Stapleton continues ... Is radio going to back this guy or not? He is on SNL this week with a huge Grammy night forecast in less than a month. Still selling and still getting attention. But still not radio ready? What is it going to take?

Then there's Hank Williams Jr. back with a new project. Junior will go to Tonight, CBS Morning and The View this week. Is there a radio hit for him in this package?

Same goes for so many of these veteran artists trying to break back in. Loretta just got booked to SXSW. She has a high cool factor ... but radio friendly? Lorrie Morgan...the list goes on. Can there be a true alternative format to the current kiddie Country/drunk in a truck format now played by some. The variety in what calls itself Country music is huge ... from bluegrass to Americana. The classic older artists to the ones who are locked into Texas. Some fantastic music. Very little of it ever heard on a mass scale.

The hockey folks are coming to town ... last weekend of January for the NHL All-Star weekend. Many artists playing with Vince Gill doing the National Anthem.

Madonna in Nashville Monday night ... will be fun to see which Country music artists go to that clinic ... master showman.

The road is opening up ... time for the Luke Bryan party to head to Mexico and others to start their Winter tours. Vacations are about over. The Row is back in business. Schools are in full gear. That three weeks between 12/15 and 1/7 gets longer every year.

So many new artists in the pipeline as the CRS drum beat gets louder. St Jude workshop in Memphis this weekend. Thanks are getting busy!!

And yes ... my school is National College Football Champions this weekend ... Class of 1979 Roll Tide!
