No One Cares!

How many times do I hear that a week? No one cares what people over 40 think! No one cares about how the streaming or digital songs sound! No one cares about serious issues like terrorism and immigration! No one cares! That really sucks and at one point do people start caring?

The quality of sound debate got nasty this week when Neil Young said he was pulling his music from streaming because it sounded horrible. Okay, Neil can do that. I wished he had pulled his music from the streams because they are making the professional songwriter and extinct species! But I guess no one cares about the songwriter.

Other than no one cares, I can't understand why the music community in Nashville at least is not protesting, marching, going crazy over this outrageous streaming compensation for the songwriter. The labels love it and the artists don't seem to be fussing too loudly, but the songwriter who doesn't tour and sell T-shirts is a goner. No one cares!

Politically correct speech and no one cares. This is becoming more and more unpleasant. The songwriter rip-off would seem to be an issue for liberal political types, but it doesn't seem to be. The politically correct speech issue has been highlight by Seinfeld, Leno and others. But no one cares!

The fact that streaming and YouTube are growing in hyper-time don't seem to bother the cooperate radio types. They must not have children or even know any real people younger than 25. Despite whatever surveys they may puke out say, the lack of radio in the lifestyle of so many should be as a growing trend ... troubling ... DUH. Think about the logic ... I have free or almost-free music coming from everywhere ... and there is the radio station with 15 minutes or more of boring commercials ... sic minutes at one time that no one can sit through. Duh, who is going to take the commercials? There needs to be a re-invention, but I forgot ... no one cares.

Soldiers don't have guns to protect themselves but everyone else on the street seems to be packing heat! A dad and his daughter go for a walk in SF and she is murdered. Someone needs to start caring about something ... pretty soon!

Summer this year is now a scorcher ... still the music rocks on ... from Luke Bryan at Vanderbilt to Chesney at Target Field and Taylor Swift at Soldier Field. Nashville-based acts are playing the big venues this year. The drinking might be a little less but not much. 300-plus treated for heat-related illness at the Luke Bryan Nashville show. Booze and the heat don't mix well.

Aldean back in the studio ... Rascal Flatts are writing and going soon. Garth ought to be about ready for the studio. Touring and recording. That's what they do. I hope some professional songwriters are still around to help them. Isn't it time to start addressing the songwriter compensation issue in a much bigger way? Sometimes you have to make people O

I remember when high definition came out ... a few cared. It was hard to convince the others. Ultimately everyone got HD or most everyone. It does looker better and you can see the difference. Someone just had to care to push you in that direction.

No one cares ... It sounds bad and it is simply not true...
