Taking chances ... if you are not willing to do that ... not sure how your road through life is going to work out. Hard to not find gamblers in Music City.
Top of the list this weekend is Blake Shelton. Yes, Saturday Night Live is a big honor ... 40 years of comic history and landmark television. Taking on the host mantle comes with plenty of risk. It is LIVE TV, after all, but more importantly you have to blend in with a group of writers and on-air people you are just meeting. Sometimes the batting average on this show for hit material is about that of a pitcher ... lucky to be hitting .183. I really hope the show has ONE GREAT segment ... One bass-o-matic or one "cheeseburger, cheeseburger" ... Blake still gets gold stars for trying and taking the risk.
Look at the kids this week on YouTube ... several got to interview the President. Another made a music video about his musical idol Brad Paisley. A video challenge to jam with him.
Check this video:
Now what for this young "Blaze" Vegas guitar wiz? He called out Brad on Twitter and they have tweeted ... I found the nice young man on the way to California and the NAMM musical instrument selling convention. I hope he gets famous from this Paisley challenge ... Let's get Brad and Blaze together and do a song ... jam one on TV ... Make it happen, one of you big shots out there!
Taking that chance to come to Nashville like the Old Crow Medicine Show did. Just saw them on the Thursday CBS Morning News. They sound like NO ONE working the room since the 1950s. They have taken too many chance to name ... young hip guys learning the art of East Tennessee roots Country.
The ACM nominations in the week ahead. Anyone called you? It is like a big high school election for Homecoming court. Luke and Miranda do well ... but what about Dierks and Jason? The wild card could be Garth! With his 1.6 million and growing ticket sales, how does he not make the nominations? The George Strait slot. Hmmm...
The Luke Bryan tour and many others announced the last two weeks ... The year is coming together nicely. The sheer number of events does make you wonder about tour overcrowding. Too many tours and not enough fan money to go around. Someone has got to get hurt this year with so many coming to your town ... how much money does a working person have for concerts? One a month ... two? Ten? Who does know ... and with that, what's going to happen this year?
SAG Awards this weekend ... all-star football and hockey. Rain for the East with snow. Ready for Spring yet?
