Anyone watch the news coverage of Luke Bryan's record breaking Heinz Field Pittsburgh concert? Not much about Luke ... the focus: The fans again were pigs! The parking lot looked like a city landfill and CNN kept showing the fan who tried to walk but fell down planting his face to the street. It was disgusting to read about the amount of trash country fans tossed into the Allegheny River. Kenny Chesney fans were actually worse the year before. Some even referred to the crowd as "Country Western" fans. Everyone must be proud.
What's the plan when something really bad happens due to excessive drinking and that gets stuck on the promoters and stars?
The Electronic Dance folks didn't want to get behind the C&W folks and had a Boston concert qualify as a Level 2 trauma event as concer goers started passing out by the dozens ... maybe up to 100. Molly, Ecstasy ... who cares, more of the same ... party until you fall over.
Enough has been said about art reflecting life and vice versa. The number of drinking songs out right now is insane. "Party, Party, Party" that and soccer the only two reasons to live in 2014.
From that cherry note to Willie Nelson ... while never missing a note to push pot legislation -- and Willie's side doing good right now ... Willie is #1 on the Country album chart for the first time since 1986. It is a groove and vibe you must slow down to enjoy. It is a first-class groove once you reach Willie groove speed.
Wisconsin is rocking off the charts this weekend. Milwaukee's Summerfest with Brad and Luke ... Country USA, Oshkosh FGL and Carrie ... Country fest in Cadott, WI Carrie and Brad ... Country Stampede in Manhattan, KS ... Luke and Eric. Big weekend for singing outdoors ... after a rainy start weatherman has cooperated.
Zac Brown playing Fenway Fri/Sat but on Thursday night 6/26, Zac wound up in the encore with Billy Joel's Fenway show. They sang "You May Be Right. " Zac seems to be able to hang with just about anyone.
Rising Star was a major disappointment in week one. The producers heard the complaints and say you will see changes in week #2. I sure hope so ... 15 minutes of music in two hours for a music competition show is outrageous. We learn again ... Judges have to give verdicts ... not all verdicts make the gallery happy. Voting no is tough. Ludacris was brave!
"The Idol" judges have all resigned for the 2015 season. The show is on antibiotics to save its life.
Country USA has already announced headliners for 2015 ... drumroll ...Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert ... Don't look for Luke Bryan at many festival soft-ticket shows. We here Luke may do 10-20 stadium shows in 2015. OK ... where will Kenny play ?
Hot time Summer in the City!
