Godzilla Returns!

Not the movie lizard ... the most successful star Nashville has ever birthed ... one smart Okie ... Garth Brooks.

Garth and Trisha are moving back to Nashville to resume their Country music careers full speed.

Hey, Garth and Trisha ... saw you last at the George Jones Farewell.. You look great, but as you get ready to move back ful-time ...

Things have changed a little since you were last living here my friends.

The traffic is worse, for one thing, and morning Country radio is anchored by corporate radio national morning shows. Gerry House is now an author of a book about Country music breaking his brain.

The record labels have downsized and the Country Music Hall of Fame, where your plaque is, has doubled in size. That big old thing next door is the convention center. It's huge and has grass on the roof.

TNN died. CMT doesn't spend a lot of time on Country music. Lots of reality shows and old movies.

It's just different. Sat radio is pretty cool. It has a 24-hour-a-day NASCAR channel.

Nashville is very cosmopolitan now with ultra-cool restaurants -- and forget about just walking into the Bluebird Café anymore. It's famous from a TV show called Nashville that features people sleeping with each other while they struggle in the music business.

How crazy is that?

The Opry is still going and going strong, thank GOD. The flood actually made it better but you have seen that.

That tall skinny blond that came by the house in Tulsa a few years back is like a girl Elvis. She has played more foreign places than you and gets audiences like you. She is smart and if you are the one who gave her some tips. I sure see them at work.

Like you, she has been a marketing whiz and knows how to treat her fans. Her love life seems crazy but she will figure that out too in time.

Your wife is a jewel. Trisha is so talented and still sweet. Hope she gets involved with things here. She can be a great asset.

Glad you sold a bazillion tickets to your Ireland shows. You still got it and can't wait until you get on stage back in the States. Canada is ready for you, too.

Maybe you can be like the sheriff and reintroduce the fans to more Willie, Waylon, Chris and George ... and less rap and '90s garage band swill.

You picked an interesting time to re-enter the picture. Glad you didn't wait any longer. You are needed now especially with GS going to the golf course or whatever he is going.

Welcome back Garth, and Trisha ... note: Jimmy Bowen is back in town soon at the Hall of Fame for a Q&A session. If we could get him back, too, then King Kong and Godzilla would be back in town. Ahhh ... in my dreams! I miss those days.
