Garth went to Ireland to announce a "comeback" show. Tickets sold like nothing promoters in Ireland had ever seen -- 240,000 in less than two hours. A $20 million gross! 240,0000 tickets for three shows and they still didn't reach demand. Garth knows!

The ACM nominations raised an eyebrow or two or three. You wonder how certain things happen ... things that make you want to say hmmmm ... Carrie Underwood and Jason Adean get no nominations for Entertainer of the Year. You could list more than a few odd entrees but hey, these things happen.

Grammys: Rratings weren't bad ...Taylor Swift and Keith Urban got boosts on their Spotify streams. But it was a hard show to make it through. The first hour was almost painful. The producers have a challenging job trying fit the whole year of music in three hours with all that diversity. Still, Beyonce should have never been the show opener with her quasi-"strip show" that was a much later in the show kind of thing. Katy Perry was overproduced and trying too hard. Paul and Ringo ... Carole King and thankfully, I have forgotten the rest of the show. As we do most of these events. Cotton candy ... in one and out the other.

Music needs a Feb. 9th, 1964 really bad ... when four4 "aliens" entered our homes that weekend and the world was never the same. Beatlemania remains a pinnacle in the last 50 years of music.
