Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
I'm not a huge fan of rap ... that is an understatement. Rap in Country ... need I say more? Then how is it possible that I like Colt Ford's new song, "Drivin' Around Song"?
The video was good ... Colt is a great guy I wanted to like the song. I do ... Sounds like a hit, too.
If you rule out Colt Ford because of its rap elements, then you probably rule out music from the other direction, Alan Jackson Bluegrass. Some excellent music on that CD.
Diversity doesn't begin to describe the musical landscape right now. Taylor Swift to Joe Nichols and everything in between. Embrace it ... So similar to the Top 40 charts of the late '60s and early '70s.
TV is a big part of the selling of County music these days. Kenny Rogers on everything this week. Brad Paisley doing a skit with Jimmy Kimmel. Blake on "The Voice." Keith Urban on "Idol" and the Home Shopping Network! Keith will be on their selling guitars Nov 3rd.
Charity examples in Country are impressive. Garth and Trisha this week supporting Habitat for Humanity in Oakland, CA. Brad Paisley in Haiti continuing his clean water work. It really is impressive what a good example most Country stars do with philanthropy.
From rap to giving away millions, Country artists are getting it done.
Very curious and want to learn more about the Home Shopping Network's Keith Urban guitar ... Nov 3rd.
Expensive guitars or beginning ones? Lots of people will be following this story. This once-shy young man has really found his personality. Music education has been an interest of several artists over the years. I bet a lot of little people get guitars this Christmas with Mr Urban the salesman.
Luke Bryan's cow pasture tour moves on. Traffic jams and big crowds. Bold idea that gets a lot of attention. And the artist enjoys the event. too. Great idea all around.
The world is a big place. Country music mostly has stayed in the big 48 with Canada alongside. Look at Taylor Swift this week... five sell-outs at the O2 arena in London in early 2014. Impressive...
Now when will Country music and it's diverse bunch discover South America? Classic rockers like McCartney/Aerosmith know and the teenybopper acts Jonas Bros and Miley Cyrus know. Is this is next frontier for Taylor? And the rest of this diverse lineup of artists. Rap in Rio?
