Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
I would rank the Summer of 2012 high on the "sucked meter" ... It was way too hot, way too early. It was way too short. Way too many really odd and troubling events. I am ready for football and the Fall!
Fall is usually a great time. The longer, the better. I sure don't want Winter but this oven of Summer has been expensive (power bills) and uncomfortable. The outdoor events have almost all been sweat boxes. Fall is always better. If I keep saying that. it will come true.
The political season is stressful with all the negative doomsday campaigning on both sides. This Summer sent some people over the edge (Randy Travis) and delivered some bad luck to others (Wynonna's husband Cactus and his Harley wreck). It's just been a weird year!
Taylor Swift's wedding crashing escapade ... Prince Harry losing a game of strip snooker ... The Batman shooting. We need real HOPE and CHANGE.
It has been a great Summer for Kenny and Tim, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. Rascal Flatts and Lady A, too. Big money and hot songs on the radio. Can't leave out Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert. Fans emptied their wallets out for shows this Summer.
The celebrity death meter has clicked far too many times in 2012. We need some great news. It will come.
The Randy Travis story doesn't seem to be getting better. "Cited" in an assault case in Plano. Randy needs to be in rehab REAL bad. I sure hope that happens soon.
Taylor Swift delivering a #1 in one week. A song that embeds in your brain. Polarizing personality at times. She is always in positive gear for her friends and co-workers. Country is ever-expandable.
Oh yeah ... and this Summer was the crazy-time Summer for "Idol." The show is real long in the tooth and trying to reinvent itself.
Maybe it can't, but in the real-work world their potential judge lineup is frigid. Mariah boring ... Kanye, what a really awful idea.
Three cheers for the old school "Idol." They sure yanked the chain on a lot of famous people ... We wont be fooled again!
If "Idol" goes all R&B, the-self destruction thermsostat will go off the scale. TV demographics are changing big-tme. But that is radical by radical standards.
Jimmy Kimmel to 10:25pCT, against Letterman and Leno ... big booking wars are coming back ... hold on ... Fall is going to be good.
