Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Full blown PR exposure for Kenny Chesney this week. He was hard to miss!
Today, Jimmy Fallon, CMT Crossroads, Nightline,YOUTUBE LIVE, countless radio and newspaper articles. His new CD should sell 200,000 first week. Not bad and enough to be #1 Country and #2 pop behind Justin Bieber.
Kenny and Tim's Brothers Of The Sun gross with just 4 shows: $16.5 million!!! $4 million plus a show...
Cost a million plus to do each show but it is a money maker ... Nashville and Charlotte this weekend.
Carrie Underwood on a similar PR push in London. YouTube made it possible to see her at the Royal Albert Hall. She looked great and was a huge sold out show. Carrie on The BBC reliving the gay marriage answer again and The Sun with a live webchat that is on YouTube.
One of Carrie's themes was that the Brits need to give to give Country Music another look. The variety of styles ... greater than they might imagine. A true statement.
Ever heard of YOUNOW? I had never until my 15 year old wanted to show me something. Go look and comeback. Amazing!!!!
24 hour a day ... live, interactive! Gong Show and worldwide for sure. There is no shortage from Hamburg to Hattiesburg of people who think they are qualified to be an Idol.
The Kardashian's and Idol have sent the young people of the world into narcissism of the highest order. Everyone can now be on TV and sing and tell jokes and have literally the world at your keyboard tips.
This Younow is Skype meets Twitter and Facebook. It is the future. This style is how future TV will be ... a live picture with room to comment and approve/disapprove. Shows like The Voice, Idol ... award shows ... beauty contests. Shows with voting or opinions ... it will be huge and may be the way to get the teens of today reengaged with network TV.
Bieber tanked on NBC the other night. That should scare folks. My opinion, teens don't watch anything on" regular" tv not even the Bieber. You Tube with Chesney this week may be the future ... I don't like that but it is what it is.
Actually paid 12 bucks a month for a subscription to The Tennessean.
I felt sorry for them. I was using their service and it costs nothing. Reporters losing their jobs. I'm paying now.
New headshot this week with Dennis Carney. He still has to light the ship and do his thing like he has done for 30 and more years. Digital era same old school talent ... that's when it does work. Old school training with new tools.
