You are never ready for it ...The seven days of CMA. CMT awards show ... and even the Bonnaroo Music Festival in nearby Manchester, TN.

Maybe 200,000 music fans between the two ... maybe more ... depends on who is counting. Both have near-capacity crowds. News will be made so if you are not on Twitter, this might be a good time to start. Even a big-shot record exec got on Twitter this week. If you follow the right people. you get a lot out of it..

Facebook ... not nearly as useful.

The Tim and Kenny show starts pre-CMA, and the CMT awards are Wednesday, June 6th. It's a three-ring circus. Add Brad Paisley at Wrigley Field on Saturday, the 9th ... and June is crazy! Country USA in Wisconsin ... BamaJam in South Alabama ... too many to name.

The big show in Baton Rouge over Memorial Day seemed to have come off well. The reviews were all read positive. The only negative so far this season is the Capital Hoedown near Ottawa, Canada. Sounds like this event with stars such as Taylor Swift and other big A-listers is going tilt. Better keep Twitter hot on this status. Refunds may be a huge international incident ... stay tuned. Some folks paid $500 bucks a pass/ticket and may or may not get their money back.

Top-down programming ... better get used to it. I'm not even brave enough to take on that subject.

It is still strange to walk through buildings that house five or six radio stations and see four people...

The Band Perry looked and sounded great on "Today" at Rockefeller Plaza. On ABC Brad Paisley at the ABC park compound. ABC can't get enough Country music; let's hope they don't get too far in the deep end. Prime-time Country-themed show, awards, festivals ... ABC is the Country network. Wish NBC had an occasional brain cell working. "Today" is still the best morning show but it needs an anchor change soon ... Someone on that show is a wet blanket.

Taylor Swift spending most all of her time in L.A. these days making music. Ed Sheeran is her latest collaborator. (he is very trendy in England these days)

Wish there was a quick answer for Chely Wright's situation. First Country star to come out as gay -- though more than a few have resisted that urge.

Chely can still sing ... girl, go sing. If someone really says or implies they won't book you cause you are gay, then we will deal with that. Gay or not, having your way in music business is real hard right now. Real hard for women especially.

Not everything is about gay or straight. I can't help but think you are right to some degree. Neither of us will ever prove our gut feelings.

Race and sexual orientation have never mattered to my ears. My musical life would have been pretty empty without a color-blind bias music menu. I wish Chely well and miss seeing her. I'm sure she would be welcome to any event she chose to attend here.
