Jimmy Carter in his homebase Nashville.
Fireworks ... what a week for them! CBS fakes the firework shots in Boston during the Pops show ... Google that story ... insane ... There is no end to the monkey business people get into with computers because they can "fix" things.
The fireworks at Cape Kennedy were muted by the sadness for saying goodbye to big rocket launches at the Cape for a long, long time. The sputtering space program sure makes an all-too-easy editorial cartoon for our economy and the forward vision of our political leaders. Going into space was once cool. Like flying at supersonic speeds over the Atlantic on Concorde. When did we as a country decide it was cool to fly on these crowded bus-like airliners? I hate going backwards!
Fireworks in Nashville at the Riverfront. Darius Rucker sang, then the aerial show began. That was some show. Bigger and much more money in the firecrackers. One of the country's top-10 shows now. Biggest crowd of the year as always, too -- 150,000 at least!
The Sheltons can't get off the front page. Blake's new CD out this week. Miranda and Blake battle it out on morning network TV Friday the 8th. They are in the news a lot.
Blake's new CD out this week ... New Chris Young ... two of the good guys ...
Alabama is back ...WE Fest in Minnesota, August 2012 ad tickets on sale now...
Speaking of tickets ... keeping up with that trial in Alabama. The bingo trial? All kinds of Nashville names showing up in that testimony: Randy Owen, Lorrie Morgan and many, many more. The artists were pawns of the gambling casino owners. Go to the Dothan Eagle, Montgomery Advertiser or WSFA-TV to get the coverage. Twitter any of those is good, too. Ronnie Gilley is going to jail for his part in the bribes to state legislators. He's already copped a plea. Admitted in testimony that he hired four people to scan unsold BamaJam concert tickets to inflate sales figures. Whew!
The goodwill press machine is sailing for The Band Perry. It's smoke and fire with this band. They are going for great wherever they play. Very in-demand opening act!
No one is hotter than Jason Aldean. He's on ESPN in the week ahead for the All-Star game. Playing in a celebrity game.
Just got a song today written by Gary Levox and Cledus T. Judd. A sweet song called "Going Places." They felt like expressing themselves on the what-if life of the murdered Caylee Anthony. With the controversial verdict still the talk of the town, the song makes people cry. More than a few women have thanked me for posting the song and ruining their makeup.
The song was recorded in Nashville and sung by a demo singer named Shane, with a Rascal Flatts-sounding piano.
One station called me to say they were playing it once an hour. Tremendous response anywhere it's played.
I put up a YouTube very quickly and it's at my ASKJIMMYCARTER channel and on my blogspot AskJimmyCarter.
Exciting still when someone has an idea, records it and gets it on the air with great reaction in 48 hours! New World Order for the GOOD!
