BMI hosted the first-ever #1 celebration Monday (6/5) for Warner Music Nashville artist Bailey Zimmerman that highlighted the success of his debut chart-topper, “Fall In Love,” along with its follow-up, the two-week #1 hit “Rock And A Hard Place." The event, held at Nashville’s Hi-Fi Clyde’s, reunited Zimmerman with his co-writers behind the multi-Platinum hits including Austin Shawn (BMI) and Gavin Lucas (ASCAP) for “Fall In Love” along with “Rock And A Hard Place” songwriters Jack Hackworth (BMI), Jet Harvey (BMI) and Heath Warren (BMI). Tanya Tucker made a memorable entrance on the Grand Ole Opry stage on Friday night (6/2), arriving on a horse. The 2023 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee made Opry history with the stunt, which Opry historians believe to have been the first time a horse has been ridden on stage during an Opry broadcast in the show’s 97-year history. Country duo BlackHawk and Southern Rockers The Outlaws joined forces to donate $75,000 to MusiCares and the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville. Henry Paul, a member of BlackHawk as well as the sole original member of The Outlaws, presented a $50,000 check on behalf of the Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund. Stephenson, a founding member of BlackHawk, passed away from melanoma in 2001. The Outlaws donated an additional $25,000 to MusicCares. The Grand Ole Opry, in partnership with CreatiVets, saluted the U.S. military with a special red carpet "Salute The Troops" performance last night (5/23) at the Opry House in Nashville.
