In De Goot & So Recordings Create New Label 'SO In De Goot'; Brett Greenberg Joins As VP, Promotion & Marketing

U.K. 4-piece Blur drops new single "The Narcissist" from the band's ninth album, The Ballad Of Darren, coming July 21st via Parlophone/Warner. It's the first album from Blur in eight years. Lead Singer Damon Albarn said, "This is an aftershock record, reflection and comment on where we find ourselves now."

New Jersey band The Gaslight Anthem are back after a long hiatus with their new single "Positive Charge" via their own Rich Mahogany Recordings, distributed through Thirty Tigers. The band's first new music in nine years was produced and mixed by Grammy award-winner Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Kurt Vile). "‘Positive Charge’ began as a message of joy to ourselves and to our audience,” said The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon. "The central theme is about looking at the things you’ve come through and feeling like you want to go ahead with an open heart toward the future, believing that the best years are not behind any of us and the good we have is worth something."

Swedish 5-piece The Hives are back with "Bogus Operandi" via Fuga. It's from their first album in 11 years called, The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, due out on August 11th. The album is Produced by Patrik Berger who has roots in the Swedish punk scene and pop credentials working with Lana Del Rey, Robyn, and Charli XCX. The Hives frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist said, "There's no maturity or anything like that bullshit, because who the fuck wants mature rock’n’roll? That's always where people go wrong, I feel. ‘It’s like rock’n’roll but adult,’ nobody wants that! That's literally taking the good shit out of it. Rock’n’roll can't grow up, it is a perpetual teenager and this album feels exactly like that, which it's all down to our excitement – and you can’t fake that shit." 

Orem, UT's The Used return with their new single "Giving Up" via Big Noise. It's from the band's just released ninth album, Toxic Positivity. "Humans share such familiar experiences and similar tragedies and everything in between," said The Used’s Bert McCracken of the intimate connection he has with people in all four corners of the globe. "I feel that if I’m writing honestly, and I’m writing from the heart, our fans will feel it."
