Calvin Harris
Jul 17, 2017
Calvin Harris is fresh in our minds again as he has been busting out new music this month in support of his upcoming album “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1”. So far we have heard “Slide” with Migos and Frank Ocean, “Heatstroke” with Young Thug & Ariana Grande, “Rollin” with Future & Khalid, and “Feels” with Katy Perry, Big Sean, and Pharrell Williams.
Scottish record producer, DJ, singer, songwriter, and musician Calvin Harris first debuted in the UK in 2007 with his album, "I Created Disco," which yielded two UK Top 10s and experienced moderate success. His international breakthrough came when he released "Feels So Close" off his album, "18 Months," in 2012 and charted his first Hot 100 hit. Since then, he's had two Top 10 hits as a lead artist in the United States, with "This is What You Came For," being his third. He also hit #1 back in 2011 with "We Found Love." In 2014, Harris released his fourth studio album entitled, “Motion” in November 2014. It debuted at number two in the UK and at number five in the US, and became Harris's second consecutive number one album on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The album's first three singles "Under Control", "Summer" and "Blame" all topped the UK chart.
In addition to his chart success, he's been awarded and nominated for a variety of awards, including 10 BRIT nominations and 4 Grammy nominations, with one Grammy win.
