Lake Street Dive formed in 2004 at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The band's founding members are Rachael Price, Mike "McDuck" Olson, Bridget Kearney, and Mike Calabrese, with keyboardist Akie Bermiss joining the band in 2017. They are currently based in Brooklyn.
For their seventh studio album, Obviously, Lake Street Dive brought in producer Mike Elizondo. In addition to the current single, “Hypotheticals,” other tracks that standout include “Same Old News,” “Being a Woman,” “Making Do,” “Hush Money” and “Anymore.”
Price recently told Variety, “We don’t ever feel like any genre suits our music, and we don’t want to play a specific genre of music. We just want to write songs that we like, that feel good and that come from our hearts.”
Lake Street Dive have recently performed on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and CBS “This Morning.” They were also recently interviewed on World Cafe.
