Dawes -- Taylor Goldsmith (guitars, vocals), Griffin Goldsmith (drums), Wylie Gelber (bass) and Lee Pardini (keys) – have become core artists at Triple A at this point. Now, 10 years into their caeeer, the band returns with its fifth album and first for Rounder, Good Luck With Whatever..
The album presents the “classic” Dawes sound of impeccable musicianship, thoughtful lyrically strong songs and a natural confidence performng as a band. In addition to “Who Do You Think You’re Talking To?” check out “St. Augustine At Night,” “Still Feel Like A Kid,” “None Of My Business,” Didn’t Fix Me” and the title track.
Taylor Goldsmith said of the project, “In the past, I’ve definitely been more precious about the way I wanted the songs to sound, but that’s never as fun. The music we make is everyone’s mode of expression, and the other guys all have chops that I don’t have and never will. The fact that we’re able to lean on each other and celebrate each other as individuals just makes us so much more excited about getting to play together in this band.”
The band recently performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Further, Taylor Goldsmith was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song “Memorized” from the NBC show “This Is Us.” They have just announced a special drive-in concert on October 17th in conjunction KCSN/KSBR (88.5 FM).Southern California.
