Dan Auerbach
Jun 9, 2017
Waiting On A Song is Dan Auerbach’s follow-up to 2009’s Keep It Hid and it is his nod to the deep Nashville songwriting tradition. He recruited some of Music City’s most respected players to write and record the project, including John Prine, Duane Eddy, Jerry Douglas, Pat McLaughlin, Kenny Vaughan and Matt Combs, as well as Bobby Wood and Gene Chrisman of the Memphis Boys.
In addition to “Shine On Me,” Waiting On A song has many great tracks including “Malibu Man,” “King Of A One Horse Town,” “Cherrybomb,” ”Undertow” and the title track.
Auerbach said about working with his musical heroes: “Living in Nashville has definitely changed the way I think about music and the way that I record it. I didn’t have all of these resources before. I am working with some of the greatest musicians that ever lived.”
Auerbach recently appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
Waiting On A Song is the debut release of Easy Eye Sound, Dan Auerbach’s new record label.
Auerbach did a couple dates for the release of the album in New York and L.A. He has a handful of dates with John Prine this fall:
9/15 North Charleston Performing Arts Center, North Charleston SC
9/16 Belk Theatre, Charlotte
10/10 DAR Constitution Hall, Washington DC
