NewJeans are a South Korean girl group, who came together in 2022, featuring lead singer Minji, and fellow vocalists Danielle, Haerin, Hanni and Hyei. The group blends vocal pop, R&B, and electronic/dance into a formula of their own.
In 2022, they released their first single, "Attention", followed by "Hype Boy". Both were featured on their debut, self-titled EP. The EP became the first debut album by a K-Pop girl group to sell over a million copies.
Their first album, OMG, arrived in January 2023, after which NewJeans became the fastest K-Pop act to reach one billion streams on Spotify. They boast 8.7M followers on Instagram, 8M on TikTok, 1.7M on Twitter/X and over 5M subscribers on YouTube.
The group made their first U.S. performance at Lollapalooza on August 3.
NewJeans' latest EP, Get Up, was released in July 2023, and features the new single, "Super Shy", currently Top 15 on Spotify.
