For almost a decade, U.K. recording artist Bakar has been captivating his community of over 4.7M+ monthly listeners on Spotify with his unique brand of music, and has already earned himself accolades with appearances at some of the biggest U.K. and global platforms – including supporting Travis Scott at his sold out London O2 Arena tour in 2022, Reading & Leeds Festival, ColorsxStudios – and an appearance on BBC Radio 1Xtra, where he performed a tribute track in honor of late rapper Mac Miller.
Bakar’s music bridges the gap between Indie, Hip-hop, Punk and Rock. Straddling the intersection between fashion, culture and music, Bakar’s sound is unapologetically bold and intentional, and his visuals parallel this. Conveying the shared humanistic experiences of love, loneliness and lived experiences that speak directly to the listener.
He began creating music in his early 20's, posting songs on his SoundCloud account and releasing his debut single "Big Dreams" in 2017. It went on to be featured on the official soundtrack of the video game FIFA 19 and was included on his first full length mixtape, Badkid, released in 2018. That year, he conducted a sold-out tour.
Bakar signed a recording contract in early 2019 and released his debut EP, Will You Be My Yellow that year. It featured the song, "Hell N Back", which became a sleeper hit and his first U.S. No.1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay Songs chart in 2020. It boasts a quarter of a million streams across all digital streaming platforms and recently resurfaced in the trailer for the upcoming Pixar film, Elemental. (Photo credit: Machine Operated)
