Nessa Barrett

18-year-old New Jersey native Nessa Barrett’s love of music began as a young girl learning to play the piano. She would write songs and try out for talent shows, singing or performing karaoke to Adele, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga. Eventually, she began posting songs on TikTok. She built an impressive number of followers which drew the attention of record labels. She signed with Warner Records and had her first studio session in 2020, where she recorded the song “Pain.”

In early 2021, she recorded the song “La Di Die” featuring Alt-rocker JXDN. The track was produced by Travis Barker and became a Top 15 hit at Alternative radio. She performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live and also on Ellen DeGeneres.

In September, she released her debut EP, Pretty Poison, which features the current single, “i hope ur miserable until ur dead”. Barrett currently has over 16 million social media followers. (photo: Kristen Jan Wong)
