One more lap around the pool for the Eagles. Fire up the jets and the amps. Vince Gill is on board for what has been called “The Long Goodbye” tour. Tickets will go on sale July 14th, so not long to wait to see how much these shows will cost.
Have you said no to a show due to high ticket prices yet? Lionel Richey/Earth, Wind & Fire in Austin—had to pass. George Strait in Nashville—had to pass. They are all priced high as a kite!
On July 15th there’s a Beyonce Nashville show, standing room only for $1,635! A spot on an on stage riser (drum rolllllll ….) $4,413! Who has that kind of spending money? Super Bowl stuff and tickets at these prices are easier and easier to find.
Beyonce may gross over two billion, and Taylor Swift over a billion on their respective tours. Will the Eagles try to top that? They have always been an expensive ticket. What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a concert?
Michael Jackson at Wembley Stadium in London was, like, $250 in the ’90s. Brian Wilson in the little Wiltern Theatre Los Angeles for about $250. Both were well worth the high prices. Maybe someone with deep pockets will invest in a Beyonce memory.
Steely Dan is the opening act for the Eagles … how cool is that? (Call me Deacon Blues!)
Has anyone demonstrated for you the AI program that singles out just the piano or bass? Heard “Saturday in The Park” with just the piano. Amazing technology.
Read some of the reviews out there for the Taylor Swift shows, then go read some Morgan Wallen reviews. (I see all good on both, by the way.)
What is confusing to many is that Taylor’s fans are loud! She is a singing Barbie to the little girls and the ones who grew up alongside her. They relate to everything she writes and sings about.
Morgan’s fans -- and Luke Combs’ fans too -- are much more laid back. They aren’t on fire like fans in the early days of Garthmania or the Kenny Chesney parties. The Detroit reviewer didn’t say it quite it this way, but drew a picture of
Morgan, a guy in a white t-shirt, jeans, boots, relaxed on stage just singing his songs. Same generation of fans, right? 180 degrees of separation! High production value for Taylor and simplicity for Wallen.
The streaming generation of Country music fans … radio is chasing them, but they’re not as easy bunch to predict.
Look at that crowd for the 4th of July in downtown Nashville … 250,000? Brad Paisley gave them an excellent show. Young crowd there, too.
It's a difficult time being the captain of a ship trying to navigate these waters.
What does the audience want based on the current stars? Real comes to mind. Relatable for sure comes to mind. Where is this train headed next?
And where does social media fit into this puzzle? Twitter seems broken, and the new Facebook, which is old school at this point. Even Instagram is boring.
There’s so much to engage and navigate.
Even the weight-loss gummy bear commercials are fake news. How does this story end?
