Beartooth
Apr 8, 2021
Beartooth was formed by front man Caleb Shomo in Columbus, Ohio in 2012 as an alternative creative outlet during his time as lead vocalist for Attack Attack! They signed with Red Bull in 2013 when the lineup included Shomo, guitarist Taylor Lumley, bassist Nick Reed, and drummer Brandon Mullins. On January 6, 2014, Kamron Bradbury, formerly of City Lights was announced as the new rhythm guitarist and later that year they released the first LP "Disgusting." Reed and Mullins eventually parted ways with the band and were replaced by Oshie Bichar and Connor Denis. In 2016, they released their sophomore project "Aggressive" and a year later, the album was issued featuring acoustic and live versions recorded in London and their hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In April 2018, guitarist Lumley departed the band to pursue other avenues, and his replacement was announced in June 2018 when ex-Like Moths to Flames guitarist Zach Huston joined Beartooth full time. It was also announced that session/studio drummer Connor Denis had joined the band as their full time drummer, and on September 28, they released their third studio album "Disease" inspired by front man Shomo’s battle with depression. On May 24, 2020, Beartooth announced that their longtime guitarist Kamron Bradbury was leaving the band for personal reasons.
On March 19, 2021, the band did a surprise release with a new song called "Devastation" which saw their sound deviate from their metalcore roots, in favor of a more hard rock/metal feel. Soon after, they released the new single "The Past Is Dead" from their new upcoming album "Below." It was also announced that guitar tech Will Deely would become the band's new guitarist.
