"Colors" is the latest single from the singer-songwriter, Genevieve. It's on her Concord Music Group debut EP, "Show Your Colors" which features the production work of Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson), Ted Bruner (Kesha), Boots Ottestad (Robbie Williams), Jason Gilbert (Christina Aguilera), and Mike Green (Paramore). This first collection is full of uplifting power-pop anthems and evocative ballads. The video for "Colors" is all about finding pride in who you are and it sees the Chicago singer (formerly of Company of Thieves) and her friends go through a Wizard of Oz transformation, from black and white to extravagant color.
"Show Your Colors is about celebrating your unique self," Genevieve explains. "In a world where people can be quick to judge and analyze, it can be difficult to overcome the fear and express our unique truth, our unique colors." The empowering EP is "about standing up for yourself," she says. "I laughed a lot while writing and recording it because the sentiment of 'show your colors' is so simple, yet something I struggle with every day of my life!"
Based now in Los Angeles, Genevieve Schatz, better known simply as Genevieve, was the former frontwoman of Chicago indie rock band, Company of Thieves. In 2014, she embarked on a solo career and "Colors" is her very first single.
