This chart topping musician and songwriter released his single, "Cupid" on April 10th and the track is currently swiftly climbing the HOT AC chart. 30 stations across the country including New York City, San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Tampa, Vegas and more are already showing heavy support for "Cupid." This is one of the effervescent, summer-ready pop tracks off Powter's anticipated fourth full-length album, Turn on the Lights, out August 14th.
Best known for his worldwide smash and top Billboard Hot 100 song of 2006 "Bad Day," Powter's latest efforts are a true return to form for the musician. "For the first time in a long time, I felt like I didn't have anything to prove while I was writing this record," he explains. "I was just writing music because that's what I love to do-that's how I make sense of the world. And I think in that process I kind of grew up a little bit." On June 1st, Powter performed at the 63rd RSC Yellow Ribbon Event held in Los Angeles. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a reintegration program for servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. Events are held on a monthly basis to express gratitude to the troops and facilitate their reintegration process. Powter explains, "I have an enormous amount of respect for the men and women in the US military. I absolutely support the troops who put their lives on the line for all of us, day in and day out. That's why it is my honor to play at the Yellow Ribbon Event."
