Legacy Recordings will release Willie Nelson's new studio album, “Bluegrass,” on September 15th. The album features 12 of Nelson's favorite self-written songs (including “Good Hearted Woman," where he shared writing credit with Waylon Jennings), reimagined with a Bluegrass ensemble. The first track, "You Left Me a Long, Long Time Ago," is available now and can be heard here. A collector's edition of "Bluegrass" on blue vinyl will be out on September 29th.
Produced by longtime Nelson collaborator Buddy Cannon, the album features Barry Bales (upright bass), Ron Block (banjo), Aubrey Haynie (fiddle), Rob Ickes (dobro), Josh Martin (acoustic guitar), Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Seth Taylor (mandolin), Bobby Terry (acoustic guitar, gut string guitar), and Dan Tyminski (mandolin). Backing vocals are provided by Wyatt Beard, Buddy Cannon and Melonie Cannon. The album's cover art comes from Nelson's son, Micah. Showing no signs of slowing down at 90, Nelson will take his family and friends "Outlaw Tour" on the road this summer and fall.
