Empire Of The Sun

The Australian duo, Empire Of The Sun recently released the new single, "High And Low," off their forthcoming third album, "Two Vines." The collection, due out on October 28th via Capitol Music Group/Astralwerks, was co-produced by Peter Mayes and features contributions from Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, Wendy Melvoin (from Prince's band, The Revolution) and David Bowie's Blackstar band members, Henry Hey and Tim Lefebvre
When asked about the inspiration behind "High And Low," Empire Of The Sun band-member Nick Littlemore explained, "It was about this girl I knew when I was a kid called Alice D who was kind of a wild child. She did all kinds of crazy things. There's an Australian film called The Year My Voice Broke, I don't know if you're familiar with it, but there's a girl in that that kind of lives a mysterious life. We wanted to write a song that captured the innocence and bravery of youth, and being a teenager, and having these kind of experiences where you throw caution to the wind and you try things for the first time."
Empire Of The Sun was first formed in Sydney in 2007 by Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore. Their debut album, "Walking On A Dream" was released in 2008 and it brought them international success with their Top 3 charting single, "Walking On A Dream" seven years later.
Empire Of The Sun will be performing at various U.S. festivals this summer including Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas.
