Zella Day
May 20, 2016
Zella Day's newest single is entitled "Mustang Kids." It's off her debut studio album with Hollywood Records, "Kicker." It's the third single released from the collection; "Hypnotic" and "High" were previously put out.
When asked why she chose to release "Mustang Kids", Zella explains, "'Mustang Kids,' matter of fact, has an impact on the people that I play it to. I watch it in the set. That's the reason why it's my last song, because there's a communal vibe. There's a unified vibe that comes along with 'Mustang Kids.' When I sing that song and I look at people's faces in the crowd they want to be a Mustang Kid, and for a single I think that's important, because I am a new artist and I want people to feel welcomed in. I want them to want to be a part of what I'm doing, and I feel like 'Mustang Kids' is that anthem."
Hailing from Pinetop, Arizona but now based in Los Angeles, Zella Day first made a splash in 2012 with a cover of The White Stripe's "Seven Nation Army," which topped the Hype Machine. She released her debut studio album, "Powered By Love" in 2009. Then last summer, after releasing "Kicker", she graced the stage of several television programs including Late Night with Seth Meyers, Last Call with Carson Daly live.
Zella Day will be opening for Fitz And The Tantrums this summer.
